A new in-brief analysis, State Efforts to Meet the Early Childhood Transition Requirements of IDEA (April 2009), summarizes recommendations from the national transition initiative for improving state and local performance related to the early childhood transition requirements of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and highlights policies and practices adopted by six states (FL, IN, KY, NH, NM and WV) to meet these requirements. This in-brief analysis was a collaborative effort of Eve Müller (Project Forum), Kathy Whaley (National Early Childhood Technical Assistance Center), and Beth Rous (National Early Childhood Transition Center).
